    Melasti Beach
    Attractions/Beaches

Melasti Beach (Melasti Beach) is a secluded treasure located on the southern coast of Bali.

Melasti Beach remains relatively unknown among tourists, so it offers pristine white sands, crystal clear waters, and impressive rocky cliffs, which together make it an ideal place for those seeking a peaceful getaway away from the crowds.

    Location

Melasti Beach is located on the southern tip of the island of Bali, in the Tanah Lot area, not far from Ungasan (Ungasan).

The nearest major settlement is the popular resort Kuta, located approximately 20 kilometers to the north.

    How to Get There

You can reach the beach by rental car or scooter.

If you are departing from Denpasar or Kuta, you will need to head south towards Tanah Lot. The drive takes about 40-60 minutes depending on traffic.

One of the main landmarks is the Pura Kertha Lestra temple, which is located right next to the beach. This temple is often a main landmark for drivers, as the road can be winding and slightly difficult for those unfamiliar with the area.

You can also use taxi services, they should know the area well enough.

    Beach Description

This beach attracts many visitors with its exceptional landscape.

The shoreline here is strewn with white sand, washed by the azure waters of the Indian Ocean, and the rocky cliffs framing the beach create a breathtaking natural backdrop.

Like many beaches in Bali, Melasti is not only beautiful but also quite clean. All due to the absence of mass tourism, thanks to which less garbage accumulates here.

    Infrastructure and Amenities

Despite its seclusion, Melasti Beach has some level of infrastructure.

On the territory there are several simple restaurants and cafes where you can snack on local dishes and drinks.

There are paid bathrooms and showers for the convenience of visitors.

But note that the infrastructure here is not as developed as on other popular tourist beaches (like Kuta or Seminyak), so it is better to bring necessary things (towels and umbrellas) with you.

What to Do at Melasti Beach?

    1. Swimming and Snorkeling. The waters here can be calm, making the beach a great place for swimming. But one must be careful, as sometimes there are strong currents here.
    2. Sunbathing and Relaxation. Ideal setting and silence, making the beach a wonderful place for sunbathing and enjoying the sounds of sea waves.
    3. Photography. Thanks to the stunning landscapes, this beach is an excellent place for photo sessions. Especially picturesque views open up during sunset.
    4. Getting Acquainted with Local Culture. There are several temples nearby, including Pura Kertha Lestra, which is worth visiting to learn more about Hindu traditions in Bali. In addition, in the Ungasan area you can visit the Kulu-Kulu Park, the famous Tanah Lot, and Bingin Beach.

    History and Myths

All of them concern the Pura Kertha Lestra temple, which is not only a place for spiritual practices but also holds many secrets and legends.

According to local beliefs, ceremonies conducted in the temple are important for maintaining balance and harmony of the surrounding world. They reflect the deep respect of the Balinese for nature and the ocean as sources of life.

    Pros and Cons

    Pros:

    • Beautiful landscapes.
    • Few tourists.
    • Interesting location with views of rocky cliffs.

    Cons:

    • Insufficiently developed infrastructure compared to more popular beaches.

    Tips for Tourists

    1. Visit the beach in the morning to avoid large crowds.
    2. Bring your own beach accessories.
    3. Respect local traditions and avoid noisy behavior.
    4. Bring a supply of water and snacks, as cafes and restaurants may not always be open.

    Frequently Asked Questions
