Are there beaches on Ubud island?
No, there are no beaches in Ubud itself, and this is one of the frequent tourist mistakes. Ubud is located in the center of the island, among green jungles and rice terraces, far from the coast. If you dream of a beach holiday, it's better to head to the south of Bali - where white sand, azure waves, and the famous beaches of Uluwatu, Nusa Dua, or Jimbaran await.
The nearest beaches to Ubud are about 1-1.5 hours drive by car:
- Sanur Beach - a calm and family-friendly beach with soft sand and calm sea, ideally suited for relaxation.
- Virgin Beach - a secluded beach with crystal clear water and white sand, ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
- White Sand Beach (Bias Tugel) - one of the most beautiful beaches on the eastern coast with snow-white sand and turquoise water.
What about waterfalls?
If there are no beaches, you can refresh yourself in Ubud at waterfalls such as Tegenungan or Kanto Lampo. Natural pools among the jungles will replace the sea and give unique emotions.
