Nusa Penida is the largest island by area off Bali’s southeastern coast, covering approximately 200 sq. km. It is located about 12 km from Bali and separated from it by the Badung Strait. The island has diverse terrain, including three plateaus, hills, and steep cliffs, many of which rise up to 500 meters above sea level. The area is renowned for its picturesque bays, white-sand beaches, crystal-clear water, and rich underwater world, making it popular for diving and snorkeling. Natural attractions include Kelingking Cliff, Broken Beach, Crystal Bay, as well as wild forests and caves. Infrastructure is relatively underdeveloped, with no large hotels or mass tourism, giving the island a distinctive character and the atmosphere of a secluded paradise. However, the roads are often difficult to navigate, and the island can only be reached by ferry or boat.
